Pani puri shots are the extended version of Pani puris. This is also is known as the Golgappa, which is one of the popular Indian street food. In a traditional way, For pani puri fill the plain puri with boiled aloo, chopped onions boiled Bengal gram. And fill with mint water ( pani) before serving. In these days they are serving the pani puri’s with different flavors of pani. So try three flavors with Kala Katta, orange and pomegranate flavor. Can try different flavors according to our choice of fruits.

How to make Pani Puri Shots:

First prepare the aloo mixture with boiled potatoes, onions, tomato and keep it aside. Then prepare the pani with three fruit flavors. For pomegranate flavor add green chillis, ginger, basil leaves, chat masala and mix with pomegranate juice. Next for orange flavor, add green chilies, ginger, mint leaves, Pani puri masala to the orange juice. Last Kala Katta flavor add green chillis, ginger, mint leaves, Pani puri masala to the Kala Katta flavor. Finally, serve these shots with puri on the top.

Puris: These are the small, crunchy, deep-fried snack which easily fit in your mouth. For pani puri shots, make a hole to the puri and fill the aloo stuffing and sev in the puri . Then Keep these puris on the pani shots. These puri’s are easily available in the market. Or else can make at home. Above all, don’t fill the pani in the puri before you serve then turn soggy.

Flavored Juice: I have used three different flavors like pomegranate, orange and kala katta. Can use freshly prepared or store-bought juices for this recipe. Fruit juices along with green chillis, ginger, Pani puri masala, mint leaves, basil leaves, coriander leaves gives a wonderful flavor to the pani puri shots. Can fill the pani in the puri and have. Or else eat the crunchy stuffed puri first and then have these pani shots immediately. that’s your choice.

Mint, Basil, Coriander: All these 3 types of leaves add a fresh flavor to the juices. Mint tastes sweet and cool effect on the tongue. Basil gives slight sweetness and aromatic flavors. Coriander leaves have a lemony citrus flavor when crushed.

  • 3 Pani puris

ingredients for stuffing:

  • 1/2 cup Mashed potato
  • 3 tbsp boiled Bengal gram
  • 1 tbsp chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped tomato
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp chat masala
  • 1/2 tbsp chili powder as required

Ingredients for pomegranate flavored pani

  • 1 tsp chopped green chillis as required
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger as required
  • 3 Basil leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp pani puri masala
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice

Orange flavored pani

  • 1 tsp chillis
  • 1/2 tsp chopped ginger
  • 3 mint leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp pani puri masala
  • 1/2 cup orange juice

Kala katta flavored pani

  • 1 tsp green chillis
  • 1/2 tsp chopped zinger
  • 3-4 coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp pani puri masala
  • 1/2 cup Kala katta pani


Pre preparation;

  • Take bowl and add mashed potato, boiled bengal gram, chopped tomato. onions, chat masala, chili powder and mix well. keep it aside.


  • For pomegranate flavored pani:
  • Mix green chilies, ginger, basil leaves, Pani puri masala and pomegranate juice in a bowl. rest it aside for 15 mins. So that the juice can absorb all the flavors. Can refrigerate the pani if you want.
  • Then a shot glass and fill it with the pomegranate flavored pani.
  • For orange-flavored pani:
  • Mix green chilies, ginger, mint leaves, pani puri masala and orange juice in a bowl. And rest it for 15 mins. Then fill the pani in a shots glass.
  • For Kala katta flavored pani:
  • Mix the green chillis, ginger, coriander leaves, Pani puri masala and Kala Katta juice in a bowl and rest it for 15mins. Take a shots glass and fill the glass with pani.
  • Now take the puri and make a hole in the middle. Then stuff the puri with mashed potato mixture. Then add chopped onion, tomato, and sev in the puri.
  • Repeat the process for other pani puris also.
  • After that take the 3 shot glasses with pani and place the stuffed puri on the top of the glass and serve.
  • Can munch the puri first then later can have the pani shots. Or else fill the puris with flavored water and enjoy the pani puri shots.

Dahi puri: This is one more popular street food and very similar to pani puri. For this Dahi puri first, take the puri and make a hole in the puri. Then add boiled potato, chopped tomato, and onions to the puri . After that add chutneys like sweet chutney, green chutney, and roasted cumin powder. Finally, add curd on the top of the chutney and cover it with sev. For this recipe can add chutneys according to your taste.

Papadi chaat: First arrange the papdis in a plate. Then add the boiled potato and boiled Bengal gram on the papdi. After that add curd on the top of the papdi. Then add sweet chutney, green chutney, red chutney and fried cumin powder on the top. Finally, add sev on the top of the papdi and serve.
